Men's Basketball Makes NWAC Final Four Run

Clackamas cruised into postseason play for the 23rd time since 2000, entering as the Southern Region’s #1 seed.

Sweet 16: Clackamas 70, South Puget Sound CC 66

March 10, 2023 “The Cougars drew South Puget Sound CC opening round and found themselves on the wrong end of a 13 point deficit in the second half before rallying behind the energy of a full court press that changed the momentum of the game. Ryan Lewis led the scoring with 19 points and TJ Doman added 17 points and 7 rebounds. Clackamas got a stellar defensive effort from point guard Andre Best, a 5 rebound, 5 assist, and 10 point effort from Isaiah Gilliam. CCC also benefitted from a dominant double double inside from Wade Autenreith with 11 points 11 rebounds.

Elite 8: Clackamas 89, Edmonds 73

March 11, 2023 The Cougars played their basketball game of the season with a stellar effort against a very, very good Edmunds team. The Cougar defense held the Tritons to 29% field goal shooting while grabbing 51 rebounds in a dominating performance on both ends. Cougar offense also rolled with five players in double figure scoring. TJ Doman lead the effort with 24 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. Braden Hudgins gave the Cougars a huge offensive punch with 17 points, hitting 4 of 8 threes and grabbing 5 rebounds and making 3 block shots. Andre Best had 11 points and 5 rebounds, and Wade Autenreith was good in the middle for 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Final 4: Everett 92, Clackamas 80

March 18, 2023 Clackamas advanced to the NWAC Final Four for the 12th time in school history, the 8th time with coach Clif Wegner. But the Cougars were denied a chance to win their 6th NWAC title by a superb Everett team, who played a great basketball game. The Cougars fell behind by 16 points early, then battled and rallied again and again, but could never get closer than 7 points the rest of the contest. Ryan Lewis led the scoring effort with 22 points. TJ Doman added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Isaiah Gilliam added 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and 5 steals in his last game as a Cougar. Braden Hudgins ended his CCC with another solid performance: 12 points, 7 rebounds, and defensive effort. The Cougars ended their season with an NWAC 3rd Place trophy from the tournament and a final season record of 23 wins and 9 losses.

TJ Doman was named first team all tournament and Isaiah Gilliam was honored second team all tournament.
