Cougars persevere at Southern Region Championship

 

The Cougars competed well with the men’s team placing third and women’s team placing fourth and led by five individual champions.  Donaven Humphries won the discus with a ten foot personal best and just over a foot personal best in the shot put which he placed second in.  Jamie Jacobs improved on her school record and top NWAC leading mark in the hammer throw with a personal best by over five feet throwing 166’9”.  Brynn Tatom had a huge personal best by thirty-two seconds in the steeplechase and surpassing quite a few athletes that were seeded ahead of her.  Daniel Coppedge stayed atop his competition in the hammer throw with a solid toss of 185’.  Allison Otto-Fitzsimons electrified the team with her six inch lifetime best in the pole vault with a mark of 12’5 ½”. 

 

The last meet will be the NWAC Championships on May 22-23 at Mt. Hood Community College.
