Former Clackamas Wrestling Coach Josh Rhoden Inducted Into 2024 NJCAA Hall Of Fame

Longtime Clackamas Community College wrestling coach, Josh Rhoden, will be inducted to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame, as announced by the organization last Friday. Rhoden headed up the Cougar wrestling program for 16 years, where he led the Cougars to five national championships. Under Rhoden's leadership, the Cougars had eleven top-three finishes and never finished outside the top-seven at the National Championship. On 11 occasions, the Cougars claimed the West region title, including a stretch of nine consecutive times from 2014-2022.

The four-time national coach of the year and Clackamas Alum (2001) guided 154 Academic All-Americans, 148 national qualifiers, 101 All-Americans and 33 national finalists. Additionally, Rhoden led the Cougars to an NJCAA Record for most points scored in a National Championship with 176.5 (2019) and a record for most National Dual Meet Championships. He completed his tenure in Clackamas with a 169-36-2 mark, which is best in the school's history. Beyond coaching national champions, Rhoden is known for his efforts in developing his student-athletes. At Clackamas, he strove to build an environment to help the young men he worked with grow and mature into high-character individuals who would succeed on and off the mat.

Some of the records his teams achieved include:

NJCAA Record for most points scored in a National Championship with 176.5 (2019)

4x NJCAA National Coach of the Year (2011, 2019, 2020, 2022)

8x NJCAA National Dual Meet Champions (2011, 2014-2018, 2020, 2022)
